COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) –If the morning commute isn’t bad enough, it’s going to be much worse if your travels take you through I-75 in northern Cobb County.

That’s because a tractor-trailer hauling cattle has overturned on the southbound lanes, closing the roadway.

The crash happened just before 5 a.m. near the intersection with Wade Green Road.

It’s unclear what caused the crash.

Traffic north of the area heading southbound on I-75 can exit onto Highway 92 and then head west to Cobb Parkway. Commuters can then reconnect with I-75 by traveling east on Chastain Road from Cobb Parkway.

It could be several hours before the crash is cleared and GDOT reports the roadway isn’t expected to fully reopen until 7 a.m.
